IF - Hatch


Initially, I wanted to illustrate the hen reading a card, congratulating her on laying the eggs. Sort of like a Congratulations card for Twins, Quadruplets etc.

Thanks to a quick search, I realised a hen can only lay one egg at a time! Double eggs rarely if ever happen. Double yolks do, but two eggs from a single hen would be something . It takes about 24 hours for a hen to produce a single egg.

In that case, that "would be something" will make mama proud!

Pilot G-Tec-C4 + brush pen + Staedtler Fibre-tip pens on paper.

I love this piece, it's fantastic. The inking is superb, and I love how you've used pen and brush together.
